– the inspiration and supporting of hydrobiological-limnological studies
on: the biology and ecology of organisms, communities and biocenoses and
the functioning of aquatic and wetland ecosystems and their protection.

propagation of Polish and world achievements in hydrobiology-limnology; as
presented at Congresses of Polish Hydrobiologists (assembling every three
years), at Polish and international Conferences, Symposia and Workshops
and at sessions of Regional Branches of the Society.
The
rewarding of distinguished papers for Msc.-degree.
The
organizing of scientific excursions.
Training
– by organizing specialist workshops and courses for the staff of
institutions dealing with environmental protection, young scientific
workers from the Universities, other scientific institutions, etc.
Advising
on and evaluating works on the practical applications of
hydrobiology-limnology by participating in and cooperating with the
advisory teams of various institutions as well as governmental and
regional councils.
Activities
in circles of specialists (e.g. on benthos, rotifers).
